Everything You Need to Know

Our Fauxwood Venetian Blind is made from high-quality PVC engineered to replicate the warmth and texture of genuine wood — without the vulnerabilities. Unlike natural wood, it is fully moisture resistant, making it the perfect choice for kitchens, bathrooms and wetrooms where real wood blinds would warp and twist over time.

Every blind is made to your exact measurements, with all components — headrail, bottom bar, ladder cord, tassels and valance — colour-coordinated to your chosen slat colour.

How to Measure

Step 1 — Choose your fitting position
Decide whether your blind will sit inside the window recess or hang outside it. This determines how you take your measurements.

Inside recess
The blind fits neatly within the window frame. This gives a cleaner, more recessed look. The blind width will be slightly less than the recess width — we apply the necessary tolerance during manufacture.

Outside recess
The blind hangs above and beyond the window frame, covering the wall around it. This gives better light blocking and makes a window appear larger. The blind width is greater than the window opening.

Step 2 — Measure your width
Inside recess: measure the width of the recess at three points — top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest measurement. Enter this exact figure — do not deduct anything.
Outside recess: measure the full width you want the blind to cover, including any overlap beyond the frame on each side.

Step 3 — Measure your drop
Inside recess: measure from the top of the recess down to the windowsill.
Outside recess: measure from your intended fixing point down to where you want the blind to finish.

Important
Always enter your exact measurements. We handle all manufacturing tolerances during production — you do not need to deduct anything from your figures.

Minimum and maximum sizes
Minimum width: 290mm
Maximum width: 2600mm
Minimum drop: 150mm
Maximum drop: 3000mm (2400mm for widths over 1400mm)

Child Safety

Every blind is manufactured in compliance with child safety standard EN13120. Two safety devices are included with every order at no extra cost.

Breakaway Cord Condenser
The cord condenser consolidates all pull cords into a single point and is designed to break away if a loop forms — automatically eliminating any strangulation hazard. It requires no action during normal use.
If the condenser is ever accidentally pulled apart, it can be reassembled easily. Full reassembly instructions are included with your blind.

Two-Part Safety Cleat
The safety cleat is wall-mounted and used to wrap and secure the cords when the blind is not in use, keeping them out of reach of young children. It must be installed at a minimum height of 1500mm from the floor.
Wrap the cord fully around the cleat in a figure-of-eight motion whenever the blind is not being adjusted.

General Guidance

  • Keep all cords out of the reach of young children at all times.
  • Move beds, cots and furniture away from window covering cords.
  • Do not tie cords together or allow them to twist and form a loop.
  • Check all components regularly for signs of wear or damage.

WARNING: Always use the safety devices provided and keep cords secured and out of reach.

Care & Maintenance

Fauxwood venetian blinds are designed to be low maintenance. The PVC construction means they will not warp, crack or absorb moisture — unlike real wood blinds.

Cleaning
For routine cleaning, wipe the slats with a soft damp cloth. For a more thorough clean, close the slats flat and wipe along their length, then reverse and repeat on the other side.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents or excessive water. Do not immerse the blind or its components.

Fitting Instructions

Full step-by-step fitting instructions with diagrams are included in the box and available to download below.

What's in the Box

  • 2 × end fix box brackets
  • Centre support brackets (included for wider blinds — 1 bracket for 3–4 ladders, scaling up to 4 brackets for 8–9 ladders)
  • Wood screws — 2 per bracket
  • Safety cleat with 2 × screws
  • 2 × hold-down brackets with 4 × small screws (optional)
  • Valance and valance clips

Fitting Overview

  1. Fix the box brackets to the window recess or wall. Position each bracket 6mm wider than the blind at either end. For wider blinds, fit the centre support bracket(s) equally spaced along the headrail, aligned with the top of the end brackets.
  2. Hook the valance clips evenly along the headrail before installing the blind in the brackets.
  3. Open the gate on each box bracket, slide the headrail into position, then snap the brackets closed.
  4. Attach the valance by pressing the top leg of each valance clip into the groove on the back of the valance, then push toward the headrail to engage.
  5. Fix the safety cleat to the wall at a minimum height of 1500mm from the floor. Wrap cords fully in a figure-of-eight when the blind is not in use.
  6. If using hold-down brackets, fix to the window facing or sill with the small screws provided, then snap the bracket pin ends into the holes at each end of the bottom bar.
